Facilities
Our building has had many additions and improvements since its construction in the late 1800’s, and it continues even now. Though it may have the classic traditional church appearance on the outside, the inside has been updated to accommodate new technology and a more modern feel.
We have a large fellowship area on both floors with plenty of classroom space with an updated nursery and other facilities. Our first floor is barrier free. |

Biblical Values
We hold the scriptures in the highest esteem as they are God’s love letter to all mankind, and the ruler by which everything is measured. We believe the original writings are inspired by the Holy Spirit and are profitable for every area of life and living.
Knowing that people are not perfect, we recognize that translations are not either. But we do value the King James Version, New King James Version, New American Standard Version, and the English Standard Version as reliable translations. Messages are preached from the NKJV and you will find them in our pews, but many in our congregation like use the KJV. |
Worship Time
Style: Our worship time can be described as a mix of the standard hymns and contemporary music; all of which are appropriate for worship time and in agreement with biblical teaching. We currently present our music with the piano, guitar, and bass guitar. All song lyrics are presented on our two large screen monitors.
Preaching: Our pastor is passionate about preaching the bible in methodical, easy-to-understand, and applicational way. The message usually comes from a book series (Exodus, Philippians etc.) and is presented verse by verse and applied to our current cultural context.
Participation: OBC has a friendly family approach to ministry and worship. We love to be together on any occasion and enjoy sharing our week with each other. Fellowship time before and after the service is usually robust.
We are a “come as you are” type of church. Some people like to dress up and others do not. The pastor is usually in business casual (shirt and tie). We are more interested on what’s on the inside rather the outside anyway.

Pastor
Greetings, Let me take a moment to introduce myself. My Name is Neil Booth. I grew up in in farm country in the lower peninsula of Michigan, and I have been a farm boy all my life. In fact, that’s what I would have been doing right now if I was never introduced to my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. I was 27 when I gave my life over to Him, and soon after I came to realize the Lord’s call in my heart to be a pastor. I obeyed His calling and enrolled at Baptist Bible College where I met my wife Sara (also a BBC grad). After receiving my Bachelors in Bible in 2006, Sara and I moved to Columbia City, Indiana to pursue my Masters of Divinity from Grace Theological Seminary. During my studies, the Lord blessed Sara and me with 4 wonderful kids, Sam, Tim, Micah and Sara. Sara and I enjoy gardening, cooking, and spending time with the kids.
Missions
We believe that fulfilling the Great Commission’s first importance is to our local community, reaching outwards to our region, then across the globe. OBC currently supports two missions in which we take great joy:
Ms. Rachel Roberts is our missionary with Freedom International Ministries working with children and families in the Dominican Republic. In their own words: “Our goal is to disciple others to impact their world for Christ. Our school is invested in sharing the Word of God with students and families through education, VBS, day camps, and other programs.”

Baptist Children’s Home, is based in Valparaiso Indiana: “bring hope to hurting and troubled children and families, striving to teach them how to live godly in spite of painful or seemingly unfair circumstances. We provide this hope through group home and foster home care for children, Christian family and/or personal counseling, adoptive services, and care for pre-born children.”
We are proud to minister with them in bringing the Gospel to families in need across the globe. Find out more about them at: https://baptistchildrenshome.org/ |
